Thank you to Markel Insurance for your ongoing support - Markel is the insurance with horse sense.

In this episode, Scott Benjamin interviews Dr. Barbara Scholz, President of the Namibian Arabian Horse Society. In addition to her duties for the NAHS, she operates Charlottenberg Arabians with her husband, Dr. Henning du Toit. During the interview, Scott and Dr. Scholz talk about her introduction to Arabian horses, an incredible series of trips to Poland to preserve the generations of breeding carefully fostered for over 60 years by the Polish State Studs in within the Charlottenburg Arabians breeding program. In addition to the show ring, Dr. Scholz participates with her Arabians in endurance, at which they are naturally inclined to be successful. From there, the discussion shifts to the incredible offerings of Namibia, both as a destination and as a place to see the wild. Namibia is also a part of the ambitious Rewilding Africa project, which seeks to reintroduce wildlife to ecosystems where the species once thrived,  restoring natural biodiversity, while securing the future of protected areas through nature-based tourism.
