The new optional masking protocol is going well on campus as transmission rates in Essex County continue to fall.
Yesterday members of the Board of Governors and Mr. Bell surveyed the riverbank in preparation for the placement of the new pier and River Classroom. It will be constructed this summer. The 20 x 20 classroom at the end of the pier will be complete with a roof, solar panels, and wind turbines. The school is making an emphatic move to see that this great natural resource and the historic river is folded into the curriculum. Next year students will also be able to obtain a motorboating license as well as take advantage of sailing, kayaking, rowing, and paddleboarding. The new pier will include an adjacent floating dock where students will be able to launch their kayaks right off the CTC Center where science classes are located. There are also plans to refit the dock at the athletic center as well as restore the small boat shed. Next year students will be able to move between the main campus and the Athletic Complex by water.
