Description

Danielle Rose is the first woman to serve as Chief Executive Officer of SMASH in it’s 19-year history. Under her stewardship, SMASH is building on over 50,000 hours of student STEM education provided to date through a robust expansion of industry partnerships, community support networks and a prioritization of early workplace exposure for program scholars. An experienced engineer, operations, and education leader, Danielle first kicked off her career in the energy sector at BP America, but after several years ultimately discovered her passion for the education space, building and managing operations for the then-edtech startup now owned by McGraw-Hill, Redbird Advanced Learning.

With exceptional role models and a powerful community, Danielle took her childhood passion for STEM all the way to one of the top engineering schools in the country, the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Now as CEO of SMASH, she is committed to ensuring the same intellectual pursuit is possible for the innumerable underserved Black, Latinx and Indigenous students across the U.S. inspired by STEM but facing unjust barriers to education.
