Getting a DNA test to find your ancestry is increasingly popular. But there's a more serious side too. There are a number of Genetic Disorders prevalent in the Jewish community, predominantly with Ashkenazi antecedents. Jnetics is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping identify and manage these disorders. These include tests for the BRCA gene (certain cancers), and Tay Sachs gene (damage nervous system).
