Alexander Panchin is a biologist, science communicator, writer, and Ph.D. in Biology. He is a senior researcher at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems, RAS. A member of the RAS Commission against Pseudoscience, Panchin is the author of The Sum of Biotechnology, Apophenia, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. His work promotes scientific integrity and critical thinking in the face of modern superstitions.
