After 17 years growing AltisHR (now Altis Recruitment), Tara Azulay had a high status, high energy position as VP / Regional Director of Site Development and Operations. She had made it. A career bigger than she had ever dreamed, two beautiful children, and opportunities to travel and enjoy the perks of her success.
But the pressure was getting to her. Balancing motherhood and her career was challenging. Feelings of stress turned into almost daily panic attacks. Before burnout was recognized as a “thing,” Tara was burning out. And she wasn’t sure what to do. She loved her company, and felt a deep sense of loyalty to the organization she helped grow and that had offered her so much. Stepping back seemed like admitting she couldn’t handle it.
Step back she did, and while her first instinct was to pursue another high profile corporate job, Tara’s body and mind told her to slow down. She took some time to explore her options before finally creating her ideal work situation - by working for herself.
In 2014 Tara co-founded the Clariti Group with business partner Kevin Barwin. Together they’ve created a company that works for them - and many others. They’ve baked flexibility into their business model, recognizing that 9 to 5 doesn’t work for everyone, but you can still get the job done.
Now Tara is tackling menopause in the workplace, advising companies on small changes they can make to retain their female leaders, and helping women make the adjustments they need to thrive later in their careers.
Listen in as Tara shares it straight up - the pain of burnout, the struggles of menopause, how to support female leaders, and how it is possible to build a more healthy life, and achieve success.
