The Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky (BIAK) will be hosting its first Big Event of the year: the Run, Walk, and Roll for Brain Health on Saturday, May 13, 2023. The event will include options of a 5k run or a 1-mile run/walk/roll. More than 1,000 participants are expected to run, walk, and roll individually or in teams to raise brain injury awareness. The BIAK is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals impacted by brain injury.

“Brain injury is more common than you might think,” said Bobby Paisley, the new Executive Director of BIAK. Approximately 35,000 Kentuckians sustain a brain injury each year, which is roughly double the national average! Brain injury occurs suddenly, without warning, and devastates families. The BIAK steps in to support people and families who have experienced brain injury and this event both supports the work of the BIAK and offers an opportunity for socialization and recreation. I truly couldn’t be more excited about this event and look forward to making it a Louisville staple for years to come”.
