Balencia Brown Owens is a survivor because of the challenging obstacle courses she has to had to journey through in her life. Born in small town Texas, she attended UCLA, and graduated from DePaul University, Chicago. She had a career as a luxury buyer for 24 duty free locations in the Caribbean and four duty free airport locations in the United States. She is the mother of three sons, grandmother to three grandchildren, and wife to her college sweetheart and best friend James Owens. Last but not least, she is a cancer survivor.
