Description

Mrs. Maureen Beck grew up in an old coal mining/ railroad town in the Pennsylvania mountains surrounded by a large music-loving religious family. She left there for good at 18 to attend college in 1971. She is the youngest of seven children, having had the benefit of many parent figures in her life. In fact, two college-educated older sisters had a very particular influence on Mrs. Beck. She worked as an academic librarian for 39 years, gradually realizing along the way that her chosen career had not allowed her much opportunity to be creative. Retirement, however, has allowed Mrs. Beck to explore her artistic gifts, learn to spend time in self-reflection, and read and enjoy nature with her partner and her dogs.
