I'm not usually 'vulnerable' (only when I want to be and feel that it will help others).
This is *not clickbait. It's true, I was engaged before the pandemic....yes, engaged to be married.
We were making plans for an engagement party and a wedding when (hit the brakes), the pandemic started.
It was very tough and heart wrenching, but I made it (and am making it through).
I share this story to help others out there who may have gone through a similar situation during the pandemic or (has gone through this in the past or is going through this right now) and to show a unique point of view. This wasn't my (first) marriage proposal....I waited until I met the *right one.
With that said (and after the tears and "why me's?"), there was/is a silver lining which was learning about myself (my self-discovery, self-care and eventually, self-love) that I have now, and I don't know if I'd want it be any other way... ;-)
