This Day in History 1957 – Alice Roth (fan of the Philadelphia Phillies) is hit by two consecutive foul balls that broke her nose and leg. The batter was hall of famer, Richie Ashburn. Alice’s husband and grand kids were treated to a clubhouse tour after the game, and they received free tickets and an autographed baseball. When visiting their grandma in the hospital one of the grandkids said, “Grandma, do you think you can go to an Eagles game and get hit in the face with a football?”
