Description

We're back, asking all of the hard hitting questions the OTHER podcasts are too SCARED to tackle, like: What are the top 10 most financially successful movies that never received a follow up (sequel, remake, spinoff, etc.)? Is television hitting it's saturation point? Can you like a movie without understanding it? Has Kendrick Lamar outgrown hip hop? And, most importantly, who is the Applebees of music?

(30:46) Nate Utesch of Metavari joins us to talk about his role in shaping album artwork cycles as an art director for the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, The War on Drugs, Weezer, AFI, Korn, Smashing Pumpkins and more; as well as the fascinating and emotional process he and the late Ty Brinneman embarked upon in re-imagining Metavari's debut album "Be One Of Us And Hear No Noise" as an entirely new electronic experience - Soft Continuum - which is out June 10th on Joyful Noise Records. We also discuss Nate's Mount Rushmore of Film Scores (one of which he may or may not have ripped off for Soft Contiuum) and the rumored Utesch Cut of Twin Peaks Season 3.
