Come and join the conversation with the inspirational lady that is Rachel Watkyn, founder of @tinyboxcompany!
Join me as we chat about the inspiration behind Tiny Box Company, from the beginnings of the business, a chance meeting in a shop with a Radio DJ, culminating in a surprise appearance on Dragons Den!
Rachel tells me about behind the scenes of filming the show, in her words her "giant frizball" hair, you will NOT believe what happened and what she had to endure to secure funding!
We talk about her traumatic childhood, the health issues she's faced, fires, floods and devastating cancer diagnosis, and at one point having to run the business from her bed unable to physically get out.
Rachel is so open and honest about the challenges she's faced, but what's different about her is that there's no sense of self pity, instead she makes jokes! In all seriousness she is a powerhouse of a woman, having to take on caring responsibilities at the end of her parents' lives, her own ill health, and clawed her way back from the darkest times in her life.
We discuss the impact of COVID-19, supporting small businesses, mentoring, changing the lives of her staff, at one point the prospect of everything she'd worked to hard to build.
Rachel is an amazing woman, and I have no idea where she gets her strength and resilience from! If you're looking for inspiration from a lady who has TRULY experienced a rollercoaster ride in her life, yet still come out the other side with a smile on her face and a wonderful sense of humour, then give this episode a listen!
You are NOT alone ladies, come and join the conversation!
