BALANCE AND PROPORTIONS

Their application - this is one of the most important
truths that I have been able to understand. Not because something suddenly
happened in my life, but because I run into it every now and then. And it's
everywhere.

A sense of balance and proportion - explains a lot to
me.

The same thing can be good in some amounts and not
good in others.

A certain amount of coffee - improves mood. Too much
coffee - destroys the mood. Too little coffee has no effect.

Travel is good, but too much is bad.

Getting out of your comfort zone from time to time -
is good for development. Lack of comfort, in the long run - is harmful to
development.

E.t.c.

This is what the great art of living is all about. About
natural sense of balance and proportion.

And how to find them?

Through listening to yourself and through the ability
to self-observe. It's like looking at ourselves as if we were someone else.
Somewhere deep within ourselves, we naturally know how much is too much, how
much is too little, and how much is enough. But we don't like to admit it to
ourselves.

When something is pleasant, we easily lose ourselves
in it. Sometimes too much.

When something is unpleasant - we give it up easily.
Sometimes too easy.

Balance and proportion have nothing to do with
restraining yourself or limiting yourself - but with a natural sense of when is
the right moment to add or subtract.

The balance does not have to be exactly in the middle
- between the beginning and the end. Just like the center of gravity of an
object - it is not always in its geometric center. This is very rarely the
case.

Finding the right proportions allows you to manage the
energy of life well. Then it becomes stable.

Balance and proportions - give a sense of inner peace
and pleasure. They help you to rejoice in auspicious things and not to despair
over inauspicious things.

They allow you to keep a healthy and strong mind. Free
from unnecessary internal tensions. They allow you to maintain a state of inner
relaxation.

Mastering this art - also makes it easier to manage
priorities - in various areas of life.

Nothing I write about is new. In every country there
is probably a proverb that expresses this thought. In mine (in Poland) they
say: "What's too much - it's unhealthy".

However, I have not heard the saying: "What is
not enough - it is unhealthy". And that is also true. Sometimes in our
lives, certain things are not enough.

And I could end with these proverbs. However, the law
of balance and proportion has a much broader and more universal meaning. They
were considered by the ancient Greeks, as well as Indian and Chinese
philosophers. The laws of nature do not lose their relevance today.

Even Einstein once said, "Write it as simply as
possible - but not simpler."

And finally, an important question.

Is there anything I do too much in life?

Is there anything I'm not doing enough in my life?
