Before we can tell anyone anything, they need to trust us. They need to see that we are trustworthy, that we mean what we say and believe it ourselves. For too many, the fact that we are Christians makes us untrustworthy. They’ve been judged and rejected by Christians. They’ve seen Christians preach generosity and humility from grand stages before leaving in a private jet. They’ve heard of Christians teaching love for one another only to be fired for mistreating their employees. People won’t listen to the Good News we have to share with them if they do not trust us.
