This summer, we will be diving deeply into Paul's first letter to the church in Corinth. But before we get started, we have to remember that we are reading someone else's mail here. To better understand Paul's teachings in 1 Corinthians, we first need to orient ourselves to the city of Corinth, the people living there, the issues of the church, Paul's purpose in writing, and the cultural factors playing into this 2,000 year old piece of mail.
