A little secret from a therapist:
Relationships introduce you to yourself. Everyone you choose to be in a relationship with reflects who you believe you are, what you need to learn about yourself or resolve. In relationships, you can learn what you want more or less of. If you are aware, you can learn to overcome, shift, and become more of yourself.
Repeat after me: Relationships teach me about myself. With each moment, I have a choice in who I am and who I want to become.

Signs that you might be ready to end a friendship:

You died spending time with your friend
You constantly feel annoyed with your friend
You’ve changed, and the relationship doesn’t fit who you are
You avoid your friend’s calls/texts
You’re reluctant to share any good news (or any news in general) with them
You no longer have anything in common
You’re tired of setting boundaries and not having them honored
You’re no longer getting what you need

A little secret from a therapist:
It hurts when the people you want to be seen by are your friends or family. No matter how hard you ry to show them who you are or how you’ve changed, some will see you based on what they want to perceive. Your job is to stop trying to convince people to see you differently. Accept that they are unwilling to shift their perspective. They have all the information they need to change their minds about who they think you are.
Repeat after me: I know who I am. I can stop trying to convince others to see me differently.
