Description

Hello Vickies, This content has been a long time coming as it is from a nearly 3 hour recording session, with so many good things going on! Very sorry for the wait! Today we get to know the fantastic Kari Nixon PhD, even more than we already had. We learn about her beginnings as a scholar, a few of her accolades and travels. We learn more of her childhood as well as a few tidbits about mentors of hers. Get ready for some belly laughs as well as some deep dives into the meta of podcasting, producing this podcast, as we as our relationships. Getting to know the engineer know as Owen Curtiss is a complex act, but Kari gets the deets on a few topics that are close to Owen. Listen along as Kari asks Owen, "Why are you the right person to support the Victorian Periodical Parade?" We also talk a wee little bit about a magical camp that stands tall amongst the Concordia Language Villages. That camp is called Skogfjorden! A norwegian language and culture immersion camp. Now that either of us have been, we cannot avoid references to it, or memories of it. Reach out if you can't find them at: http://www.concordialanguagevillages.org/youth-languages/norwegian-language-village/our-site This was supposed to be a transition episode between our live readings on Facebook, and Youtube into the "audio only" podcast version of the show. Turns out Owen is putting out the video versions of the podcast episodes as well, due to his love for the facial reactions, falling equipment, and self care habits found in these recordings sessions. Also, we didn't really talk about the podcast that much in this interview anyway. Let us know if you enjoyed this.
