Today’s story is Betty Knox and the Calling Ghost.  When a reclusive farmer disappeared in the late 1700s, travelers on the isolated trails where she once drove her old ox heard strange noises and calls in a certain deep pocket of woods along Dunbar Creek. And I heard them too-

You can take your chances and search out this legend. Betty Knox (Knocks) Road is in Pennsylvania State Gamelands Number 51. I parked on Betty Knocks Road about 600 feet from where it intersects with Tucker Run Road and crosses Dunbar Creek. Then I hiked from there. . .
