I always wanted to be a writer but never expected to be one. It was an impossible dream that I let sit and simmer on the back burner for most of my life.
I tried and failed for years to make a career in sales and marketing, and while I was good, earning my MBA from Rutgers in Marketing and Management, it wasn't my calling. I would feel unfulfilled after a full day's work, wanting to come home and write something but not having the energy and not believing that anything I wrote would be worthwhile anyway.
I managed to dull this pain by cycling through emotional eating and yo-yo dieting. Always "trying" to lose weight, never succeeding, never realizing how much of a disconnect I was creating within myself.
