A two Spirit Journey
WARNING this episode has some descriptions of graphic violence listener discretion is advised. This episode is with Aodhàn Crawford and artist and member of the Lakota tribe living in Boise Idaho. Please check out his website https://craftycrawford.com/. This is part two of A two spirit journey. Our first episodes for Misteyre Creations. Two spirit is a broad term used to describe people who fulfill a third gender or gender fluid role in indigenous north American society. The term was first coined in 1990 at Turtle island. It is meant to differentiate indigenous LGBTQ people from non-indigenous but it is far more than this as we found out these episodes. Two spirit people fill a role in indigenous society that is far more important than we knew going into these episodes. Please enjoy.
