Hello and welcome to Social Media Traffic School with Sally Hendrick.

That’s me! I’m Sally from Nashville, Tennessee, and this is today’s update.

To continue our conversation from yesterday, let’s talk some statistics between LinkedIn and Facebook.

Did you know that globally, there are over 2.38 billion monthly active users on Facebook?

And LinkedIn has 562 million members. This just goes to show that if you want expand on what you’re doing with LinkedIn, you really should consider Facebook as an option.

Here’s more:

1.56 billion active users log onto Facebook every single day.

The average Facebook user logs in 17 times per day.

With LinkedIn, 40% of members visit the professional social network each day.

But the average LinkedIn user spends only 17 minutes on the site per month.

That’s 17 times per day that people visit Facebook versus 17 minutes per month on LinkedIn.

Now why is this important? You may think, but Sally, my clients are corporate clients. They aren’t even allowed to use Facebook at work….but I say, oh yeah? Who is stopping them from looking at Facebook on their phones while they’re taking a break, having lunch, or scrolling the news feed at night or on the weekends?

When someone is away from work, they’re usually more relaxed, but if there’s a big deal you’re about to close at work, wouldn’t it be nice to slip into someone’s phone front and center when they least expect it? That’s what Facebook advertising does for you.

Facebook competes with Google AdSense and AdMob when it comes to advertising placements. Your ads will pop up right in the middle of a game of Solitaire, a stock app, a weather update, or in the middle of a Forbes article….and that’s effective for what we like to call “decision support”.

So what are you waiting for? If you think you’re ready for Facebook ads, head over to our sister site, CleanSlateAdvertising.com and take our free Facebook advertising assessment to if you’re ready to run some ads.

See you tomorrow!
