Listen

Description

In this episode Danie expands on the topic of grief with special guest Gracie Gonzales Martinez, host of the Mija Listen Podcast.

The conversation stemmed from a group conversation hosted by Clinical Comadre back in March around grief in the Latine community. The two ladies share their experiences with grief and explore possible correlations between grief and its ancestral roots. While grief looks different for everyone, what is constant is that everyone experiences it. What is unfortunate is knowing that there are those who go through the process alone or they rush themselves through different stages. This episode makes spaces for anyone who has grieved, is grieving, or will grieve. Honor your feelings. Losing someone or something can be traumatic and when we ignore the process, things have a tendency to come back full circle when things are left unresolved.

Special thanks to Yolanda Ramos, Associate Clinical Social Worker, for opening up the conversation because it leads to deeper conversations like this. Thank you our guest Gracie for taking the time to be on the show and share your experience. It was a pleasure.
