When democracy does not bring prosperity.
About 10 years ago the Arab Spring occurred, which saw long-term authoritarian leaders in North Africa and the Middle East ousted from power, starting with President Ben Ali of Tunisia in 2011. Since then Tunisia has been largely seen as the most successful country in its transition into democracy. However, after President Kais Saied abruptly sacked the Prime Minister and dissolved Parliament last week the Africa 4 Dummies Team asks if this democratic success story is a myth?
