Celeste Preston | Talks Fashion, Being A Lady Landscaper, Growing Our Own Foods, & Racism In College
Celeste Nicole Preston was born and raised in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. Her roots are in Germantown since she spent most of her youth in school and church there. She went to Walter Biddle Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences and majored in Landscape Design. Celeste was an active member of the Philadelphia chapter of the FFA (Future Farmers of America). She won first place in the Regional FFA Landscape Nursery competition in 2005 and went on to compete in the national FFA competition with her team in Louisville, Kentucky. Celeste earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA in 2009. She's worked in the Landscaping Industry for over 15 years. The pandemic gave her the time to start an organic and sustainable garden in her very own backyard. Celeste received a blue ribbon from the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society in the summer of 2020. In December of 2020 she decided to start her own urban farming business Green Grocer Cee. Though she has a passion for plants and all things nature related, she is also a poet. She's been writing poetry for 20 years. I am also an author and hope to publish my children’s gardening book series soon. Celeste is also an event curator, social media influencer, fashion designer, positivity promoter and a community builder (African American and Indigenous communities specifically). She vows to spread love and positivity everywhere she goes.
