Good Friday. The dark day. Jesus is shamed, spat on, humiliated, and nailed to the cross. By all accounts, he is just another failed messiah—a loser. But above him is a sign declaring him King of the Jews, and his death defeats the dark powers that hold the world captive. To bring new life into our world in the way of Jesus, we also have to get used to losing.
