Welcome back to the Hangar bar everyone. We are glad you are here. Today we start another brand-new series that we are super excited about. This is going to be all about recreating Disney food and drink at home. Because of some illnesses running around the Hangar bar crew, we were not able to get together for this one, but will include all four of us soon.
Today though, Scott and Candice bring and old familiar treat to their home kitchen. They attempt to recreate Lefou's brew. This treat that can be found at Gaston's tavern in Fantasyland is a treat that has lots of memories and nostalgia. We started here because it is a familiar flavor that we could compare to the real thing. In the future, we are going to recreate recipes, treats, cocktails, dinners and desserts and bring you all along for the ride.
The recipe we used today came from Disney Dream Co and can be found here: LeFou's Brew 2.pdf (disneydreamco.com)
This simple recipe is as follows:
1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
4 tablespoons Mango Juice
4 tablespoons of Passionfruit Juice (we substituted Guava juice at the recommendation of the internet)
12 oz can of frozen apple juice
1 cup (or so) of ice cubes
1/2 cup Marshmallow Syrup
Whip up heavy cream, mango juice and passion fruit juice in a cold bowl for about 3-5 minutes on high until you get soft peaks. Store in fridge.
Add frozen apple juice, marshmallow syrup and ice into a blander. Blend until you get a slushy consistency.
Poor the mix into a cup and top with the whipped cream mixture.
It is delicious...give this recipe a try and let us know if you agree with our very scientific measurement scale.
