Description

In 2017, Black Women rose to the occasion and made their voices heard like they had been doing for the past 10 years. Then in 2018, America watched as Black women again, made their presence felt as it turned the balance of power over to Democrats to when the House of Representatives and re-elect the first woman Speaker in our nations history. And now in 2020, the lone representative of the Democratic base, Senator Kamala Harris, has suspended her campaign as a result of not being able to raise the money to keep her in the race to Iowa and New Hampshire.

Even more devastating, no person of color will be on the debate stage next week to represent any of the concerns and issues of African-Americans, leaving us with the same old issue and party that Black America has had to deal with for generations.

So now, what will be the impact of Senator Harris' departure on the electorate and the future of the Democratic party? Who is it, with a person of color leading the party, no person of color is on the debate stage?

My guest is Harris surrogate and Campaign Chair for Louisiana, Representative Edward "Ted" James, and Law Professor and former president of the Guild Law School and publisher and co-founder of the LA Progressive Dr. Sharon Kyle.
