CW: Discussion of domestic abuse/violence
Happy Pride Month everyone! 🌈 From us and also from Netflix who gifted us with their first official queer reality tv dating show -The Ultimatum: Queer Love. What a journey! There was so much to discuss so we invited our dear friend and now official reality tv correspondent, Dona, back. We cover everything from the ups and downs, twists and turns, and ping-ponging that was the Mal/Yoly/Xander/Vanessa quadrangle, to Sam’s steady integrity juxtaposed with Aussie’s readiness to flee. Towards the end, we consider the reunion episode and what the situation between Tiff and Mildred helped to show us about the ways in which the pressure placed on queer people to prove their ‘goodness’ in order to avoid societal violence, can lead to a lack of discussion and action to address issues like lateral and domestic violence within marginalized communities.
