In this episode, Abou and Lenn discussed President Barrow’s traditional Eid engagement with the Banjul Muslim elders, and the composition of his new cabinet.
* The President’s Eid engagement is a tradition in which the President and the elders address issues affecting the country. The President used the occasion to highlight some of his government’s programmes aimed at improving the lives of Gambians.
* After several months of waiting, president Barrow finally has set up his new cabinet and members were sworn in. Reactions had to a large extent been positive. One big surprise was leaving out Mambury Njie former Finance Minister and the appointment of Badara Joof, former Minister of Higher Education as Vice President. The gender representation in the new cabinet has been labelled as a disappointing aspect with only three women members of cabinet.
