Andrew Weber is currently a senior on the Men's Soccer Team at Virginia Tech. Ever since he was little, it was always his dream to play Division I soccer. Through his recruiting process, Weber found himself wanting to go to Virginia Tech for their Engineering program as well as their elite soccer program. While not offered an official spot, Weber had the chance to walk on to the soccer team. After weeks of training and hard work, he was faced with the difficult outcome of being cut from the team. After quickly deciding he was not ready to give up on his dream, Weber tried out again and AGAIN, finally earning his spot and becoming an official member of the Virginia Tech Men's Soccer Team.
Weber's story is one of perseverance and self confidence. He reminds us that a level of gratitude will get you far in life and teaches us how to block out any negative energy or opinions when it comes to chasing your dreams.
