Another Classic - let’s get into it!

What happens when you meet someone whom you are really feeling but that person is outside of your race and/or culture?  That’s what this episode jumps into, The Interracial Pregame!  Love is simply not enough to ensure the success of an interracial relationship.  It's only the beginning of a long haul of talks, misunderstandings, insights, surprises, over-reactions, and so much more.  In other words, its unrealistic to believe love is the only attribute needed to sustain an interracial commitment.

Openness, honesty and transparency must happen and it should happen sooner than later in the relationship.  Once you begin to feel that soul connection, courageous conversations are a must!  These conversations must happen because although there is progress being made, there is still much work to be done in our society.  Racism and prejudice from some still exist.  Because of that very reason all facets of being in an interracial relationship must be considered, by both parties.

The bottomline is, in order to successfully maneuver within an interracial relationship, you must have more than love.  You must have compassion  and empathy for one another.  Most of all, you must be able to be comfortable in an uncomfortable situation.
