My grandma had all kinds of sayings and parables but this one referring to idle time was by far one of her favorites. These days, we find ourselves using the same phrase when speaking with each other and especially when talking to teenagers. As you know, when they get bored, they’re more likely to be idle and indulge in unproductive activities like surfing the internet, watching TV or playing video games.
In the age of productivity, it's no wonder why so many people have trouble focusing and shutting off their minds. But when we do, our brains don't just relax and enjoy a well-deserved break — they run wild with idle thoughts. Idle time is the devil's workshop. That's why we often try to avoid it. We want to be productive and make the most of our time.
Sometimes it's best just to shut off our minds for a while and enjoy some peace and quiet.
