Description

At the start of this month’s plan of action. We decided to ask pertinent questions when setting up our websites. One of the question was: What is the nature of the business? Is it sales driven where you want people to buy something? Or is it information based which means, you are just providing information. If your purpose is the first question, which is driving sales, then we need to prepare for it.

You will need an ecommerce website, or popularly known as an online store. These websites requires more attention than an ordinary website that is just providing information. Here’s are a few things we need to set up:

Digi-Nosis:

1. A shopping cart -This tool will let you display product images and descriptions. Look for a cart option that includes important features like shipping options and inventory tracking. Payment processing. With third-party service like PayPal stripe and square space to collect payments, you can set up a merchant payment option at your choice to accept credit card payments. This gives your business greater credibility. Do remember the power of the website we discussed in the previous episode.

Merchant accounts let you accept payments from major credit, debit and gift cards on your site — so your customers don’t have to leave your online store to pay for their goods. One of our products which is the website builder or GoDaddy’s Online Store includes built-in payment processing. (check tinyurl.com/JamCovidHelp)

2 SSL – You would need an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate as that is the first thing customers do when they decide to buy something from your website. SSL certificates are digital certificates that encrypt the information your customers send when they purchase products or complete forms on your website. Visual indicators of an SSL can include a padlock icon in the browser, https:// before the website address, and a green address bar. Secure your ecommerce website with an SSL certificate to make sure customers feel safe making purchases on your site.

According to Digital Commerce 360, "Consumers spent $861.12 billion online with U.S. merchants in 2020, up an incredible 44.0% year over year, according to Digital Commerce 360 estimates. That's the highest annual U.S. ecommerce growth in at least two decades. It's also nearly triple the 15.1% jump in 2019."
