Oya ThePoet is an author of many talents. A poet, singer, song writer, empowerment speaker and all around master of the arts. She is an Army vet serving 8 years, 4 as a commissioned officer. A young intelligent woman with a long intricate life. She has performed numerous talents including her gifts of poetry and song in front of thousands of audience members. Using her influences at several colleges campuses across the nation while uplifting her community into proactive behavior. Oya writes for the soul of the wounded heart and shattered mind. Her writing includes easy to understand illustrations of life’s experiences and she performs in a way that makes any listener eager to relate. She embodies confidence while sharing her scars and perspective with the intent of helping others heal. A regular contributor to The community, Oya is the recipient of several awards, including the 2019 First place winner of the Arkansas Lupus Foundation Talent competition.
