Use a CRM! Following up is the most important part of networking and where most people fail. Networking is almost useless if you don't follow up consistently. If you haven't interacted with someone in years, are they really still your friend? They might be a totally different person.

Use a CRM. The best CRM is the one you'll actually use. At a bare minimum, you need to track contact info, notes, and ideally when your last interaction was.
