Romans 8:1 (NKJV) says:
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
Romans 8:14-17 (NKJV) says:
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, 'Abba, Father.' The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."
Fear is often the root of condemnation. Fear causes us to have an unhealthy perspective of God. When we do not understand God's love for us, the enemy can use this to cause us to think less of ourselves, and not come into our identity as sons and daughters of Abba, Father. When we close the door to condemnation and study the Word, fast, and pray, we will come into the full knowledge of God's love for us and be secure in our identity, being image bearers of Christ!
In Part 2 of this episode (see link to Part 1 below), I speak with Danielle Unger who shares some of her story about her process with overcoming self-condemnation. You will hear about: how demonic thoughts from before came back the day after she encountered God the night of her engagement, how she attempted to hold onto her relationship with her fiancé after her encounter with God, what eventually led her to end the relationship with her fiancé, how God helped her to heal through the painful process of heartache, the reason behind why she feared returning to the U.S. from Colombia, the events which led up to her receiving an invitation to her future husband's church home, how her relationship with God grew tremendously while simultaneously experiencing self-condemnation, how God is currently helping her in the process of overcoming self-condemnation, how she prays for and demonstrates love towards her children, how her husband, Daniel, encourages her through the process of overcoming, advice and encouragement for others, and more!
