Early introduction of the ultrasonic can help students develop confidence in using them. In this episode we will introduce students to the design characteristics of the Standard Straight Ultrasonic tip and compare those design characteristics to the design of the periodontal probe. The probe is one of the first instruments introduced in preclinical rotation. Taking the time to relate the similar character traits and design features will help develop a baseline for use of ultrasonics in the clinical setting
