Dry mouth impacts dental health in all aspects and can rapidly diminish the integrity of the dentition. Restorative work as well as periodontal health can be greatly impacted by xerostomia. The clinician should understand the role saliva has on the Dentition, how to spot xerostomia, and how to treat patients who suffer from xerostomia.
