On this episode of the podcast, we spoke with Lili Haring. Lili is earning their degree in Anthropology with a minor in Linguistics and African-American Studies from Florida State University.
Our conversation touched upon various aspects of human society such as technology, art, tourism, and politics. Many of Lili’s opinions on the world have been shaped by their studies on human culture and history.
Lili also told us a bit about the origins of anthropology and its ties to archaeology. The fields share a past as lofty pursuits for rich Europeans to build and analyze their exotic collections. In time, they both evolved into the respective fields that we know today.
Lili also expressed their frustrations with the U.S. political system and explained the difference between liberalism and leftism. However, despite their frustrations with the government, they continue to keep faith in humanity.
An example we can learn from Lili is to actively participate in what you believe in. Volunteer and put yourself into situations that might initially scare you. Lili believes that everyone can help in some way, especially when they’re open to learning something new.
Stay Open. Stay Active. Keep listening.
