On this episode of the podcast, we spoke with Andrew Bourne. Andrew is earning his BFA in Film Production from Florida State University. Beyond film, Andrew has dabbled in various art forms ranging from acting, improv comedy, and sketch writing.
Andrew highlighted just how many layers there are to filmmaking during our conversation. Production requires intense collaboration. Directors need to understand how to communicate effectively with actors. Producers and production designers are sometimes forgotten about by the audience.
We also talk about how film is changing amidst modern technologies. And we look at how film influences and shares its DNA with graphic novels. At some point, we even dive into Andrew’s thoughts on religion and explore how film can influence modern audiences in much the same way as faith.
Perhaps the most valuable thing Andrew shows us is that a sense of humor can get us through anything. While it may not change the outcome, laughing with others during a difficult situation always brings us closer together.
