Daniel's Answered Prayer
Last week we saw Daniel's prayer, and today we will take a closer look at the answer he received. Like Daniel, we will learn that the future is about our redemption, and the faithfulness of God.
I. Daniel's Prayer is Answered 9:20-23
A. How was it answered
B. When did it happen
C. Why – you are greatly loved
D. What – he came to give him understanding and insight of what was to come.
II. A Prophecy of Redemption 24-27
9:24 70 Weeks/490years To Accomplish 6 things.
A. To finish the transgression
B. To Put an end to sin
C. To atone for iniquity
D. To bring in everlasting righteousness
E. To seal both vision and prophet
F. To Anoint a Most holy Place
9:25 The temple be rebuilt the Messiah will come there will be 7 and 62 weeks.
7 weeks/49 years – The rebuilding of Jerusalem/Temple
62 weeks/434 years – Then the Messiah will be coming.
1 week/7 years – Tribulation, vs 26b-27
What does this all mean for Israel?
III. Does this have any meaning for us? 9.24
A. To finish the transgression
B. To Put an end to sin – He will defeat sin
C. To atone for iniquity – this is the work He did on the cross
D. To bring in everlasting righteousness – He is coming again to do this
E. To seal both vision and prophet – God's word is complete,
F. To Anoint a Most holy Place – He dwells within us through the Holy Spirit
Things to Consider:
1. Pray pray pray...
2. Remember God loves you. Remember this when you pray.
3. Prayer is an Act of Trust. Trust in God's sovereign plan.
