"Courage in the Call"

Joshua 1:9

New Living Translation

9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

In Joshua 1:9 (NIV), God commands, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever
you go.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder of God’s presence and strength during times of transition and challenge.

As Joshua faced the daunting task of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, he was met with fear and uncertainty. God’s instruction to be “strong and courageous” emphasizes that courage is not the absence of fear but rather the determination to act in faith despite it. God’s assurance, “for the Lord your God will be with you,” reminds us that His presence is our greatest source of confidence.

In our own lives, we face various challenges—whether it be in relationships, career changes, or spiritual battles. Just as God supported Joshua, He promises to be with us, guiding and
empowering us to fulfill His purpose. We can find strength in His word, reminding ourselves of His faithfulness.

Let us be bold in our faith, stepping forward with courage, knowing that God walks alongside us every step of the way.
