"Eternal Kingdom"

Daniel 7:14

New International Version

14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

What Daniel sees in his marvelous vision is a being that looks ever so human, but who is ushered into the presence of the Ancient of Days and made ruler over a kingdom that never ends. What may have been a mystery to Daniel Is no mystery to us. That flesh-and-blood Son of Man was Jesus Christ the Son of God, who-having been raised triumphantly from the dead ascended through the clouds into heaven in a scene strikingly reminiscent of Daniel's Vision. In that wondrous ascension, Christ transcended every human notion of authority, rule, and reign. Unlike any human kingdom, his spiritual kingdom will last forever. No decline and no fall. No corruption and no decay. So who wouldn't want to be part of a kingdom like that?

The timely question is: Why should I fear the current decline and fall of culture if my true citizenship is in an eternal kingdom?
