Daily Devotion:
“Every Season Is Important… "
Ecclesiastes 3:1
New International Version
3 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
As with nature itself, all the many seasons of life also play a role. From the joyous season of birth to the culminating season of death, each season has its place. If perhaps the season of Jesus' birth was more rapturous, the season of his awful crucifixion was indispensable. How can we expect seasons of happiness without seasons of pain? Or seasons of growth without seasons of plantings? Or seasons of excitement without seasons of calm? To wish that our "winters of distress" could be milder is to risk missing the strength of perseverance harsh winters produce. To dread the fast-fading autumn of our lives is to miss its unique beauty. For the wise, no season is to be feared or avoided. We learn from the seasons of nature that, while no season of life lasts forever, every season is important.
The question worth asking is: Have I learned to welcome whatever season comes my way?
