"God Is Honored by Our Sacrifice"

Mark 12:43-44

New International Version

43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

The widow gave God everything. When we love God greatly we can give Him everything, too. We can honor God by giving Him the best of our time, the best of our talents, and all of our worship and praise. Where we feel small and insignificant but still choose to serve God, He is glorified. While there are many ways to give and serve God, such as volunteering our time or talent, God does ask us to give financially. The widow’s offering shows us that no matter how much we’re able to give, God is honored by our sacrifice. When we give to His kingdom, no matter the amount, we glorify Him and the sacrifice He made for us on the cross. Jesus doesn’t care how much you have to give. He cares that you give all you have to Him, joyfully and generously with your whole heart. Like the widow,
when we give what we are able to give to the Lord, we can be sure that He sees our gift and will use it for His glory. What you give to the Lord will never be wasted.
