"God is My Strength and Salvation”

Isaiah 12:2

New Living Translation

2 See, God has come to save me. I will trust in him and not be afraid. The Lord God is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”

Isaiah 12:2 declares, "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid; for the Lord GOD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation."

This verse speaks directly to the source of our strength and hope in times of trouble. It emphasizes placing our trust in God, not in ourselves or worldly things.

The context of Isaiah 12 is one of God's deliverance and the Israelites' joyful recognition of his power. The prophet is encouraging the people to confidently proclaim God as theirsalvation, their strength, and their song of praise. This declaration of faith is a powerful statement of reliance on God, not only in moments of crisis but throughout life. This mirrors other biblical figures like David who, in Psalm 27:1,declares "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" A similar principle is found in Matthew 6:33 where Jesus says to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." God's provision is a promise, not a wish.

Just as a strong foundation supports a building, faith in God provides stability and strength in the face of life's storms. This verse encourages us to make God the center of our lives, trusting in His promises and celebrating His salvation.
