Daily Devotion:
"God's Constancy... "
Lamentations 3:22-23
New International Version
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consume for his compassions never fail.23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day "And the next. And the next. Praise God for mornings! If creative types ever see a sunrise, it is only because they've worked all throughout the night! But for everyone else, the rising sun brings the exciting promise of a new day. The troubles of the previous day, if perhaps persistent, are not specifically to be repeated. Sufficient, indeed, is the evil of each day! Once ended, that day is forever past. Hope is always in tomorrow because-until the Lord returns ~ there will always be a tomorrow. And new beginnings. And God's unending faithfulness. How can we know that? Because the sun keeps coming up everyday! The sun and the moon and the earth all remain faithful in their assigned courses, reminding us day by day that the One who made them all is himself faithful. As sure as there is night and day, God's love is constant. His compassion never fails. In a modern world of unrivaled, unsettling change, the one thing we most desire is constancy.
The reassuring question is: When the sun comes up tomorrow, might it just remind me of the hope renewed each day by God's constancy?
