"God's Rest"
Hebrews 4:9-10
New International Version
9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, [a] just as God did from his.
Have you ever had one of those days where you were miraculously blessed with extra minutes somehow, with
nothing urgent on the to-do list, and were able to use that time to take a nap? There is something really sweet about giving yourself permission to take a nap, like a child, in the middle of the day.
That is the same kind of sweetness in “God’s rest,” a special, holy rest. It might not be a nap, literally, but a calmness of the spirit that comes from trusting God’s
sovereignty in your life. We can rest peacefully knowing God has everything under control.
