"He Has Specific Plans and Specific Future"
Psalm 139:16
New International Version
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Joseph received a double portion of blessing, as Jacob blessed Joseph’s sons as his own. The faithfulness of Joseph allowed him to be blessed abundantly by God. In the same way that sinful actions can disqualify people from leadership, God entrusts these positions to those who are praiseworthy and responsible. Even though these words were directed specifically to the sons and descendants of Jacob, we can find much encouragement and instruction in them. We are reminded of the way God knows our past, present, and future and of His intimate involvement in each.
God has specific plans and a specific future designed for each of us. Will we submit our lives, desires, and plans to God, trusting He has the perfect future prepared for us? As we seek to live lives that honor Him, may we begin each day by entrusting our future to the One who has known all our days before any of them came to be.
